Dr. John Yeager

John M. Yeager, Ph.D. is the director of The Center for Character and Leadership at the Culver
Academies in Culver, Indiana. He also is responsible for the integration of wellness-based
programs within the school. He is a consultant to Boston University's Center for the Advancement
of Ethics and Character where he formerly was an associate scholar and clinical assistant professor
in BU's School of Education. He spent more than twelve years of teaching and coaching experience
in public schools before coming to Boston University in 1988. Dr. Yeager consults with youth
organizations, schools and colleges on the nature of character and sport. He has also played and
coached at the secondary school, college, club, and professional levels. In 1996, he was inducted
into the New England Lacrosse Hall of Fame. He is the author/co-author of two books:
Character and Health: Cultivating Well-Being Through Moral Excellence and
Character and Coaching: Building Virtue in Athletic Programs.
