My house with five kids feels like a zoo on the morning before a game. Everyone seems to ahve the pre-game jitters and they seems to feed off of eachother. My older boys are now in HS and it just gets more tense is this part of the pre-battle nerves or maybe I am missing something? If you have a calm house on game day canyou help this mom out/ I am not always mad--butcouyld use some help.

I would guess any house with 5 kids would be crazy all the time, but I think this has more to do with your kids than the games they play. I'm guessins your kids have played games since they were little. I think there needs to be some sort of understanding that these are just high school/ middle school games. I think we as parents get too hyped up on some of these things and our kids get nervous becasuse their parents/ grandparents are.

One thing I used to think of was that on that Friday night, there will literally be thosands and thousands of high school games being played at that same time. Meaning this is just one game and it's not that big of a deal.

Trying to Prepare for school sports

Hi I'm new here and really in need of some of advice so i won't go nuts again this fall.

I have 1 in Minor little league (ds1) and 1 in T-ball (ds2) 1 in 9 yr group (and a 2 year old that wants to play really bad lol) Here ws our spring schedule

Monday, Wednesday, Friday ds2 practice 5:30-6:30 ds1 practice 6:00-7:30
Tuesday, Thursday ds2 game 5:00-6:15 ds1 game 6:30-8:30 (usually gets over late)
Saturday ds1 practice 1:00-2:30

The games are all on the same field so those aren't too big of a problem, I spend a lot of time running around like a crazy person on practice days though. My biggest problem though is when do you eat dinner? By the time the games are over we're all so exhausted the last thing I want to do is make dinner. By the time the kids have eaten, gotten baths, teeth brushed, etc... it's 10:30 and they have school in the morning! School will be over in 2 weeks but I don't know if we're going to make it till then. Their father does not live with us and works out of town so he's no help. I do have family and friends around that can help out occasionally, but the rest of the time I feel like I'm just playing catch-up. We do a lot of food in the crockpot but even that takes some time after we're home to get the rest of the meal together. We don't do fast food either, so that's out. I'm just wondering how other people balance it all. Thanks in advance for any help you can give. :)
I sure know how other parents do it! We have just entered the world of sports and it scheduling. My son has Tae Kwon Do on Monday and Wednesdays and has soccer on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturdays.... I have a real problem finding healthy/quick meals for the family myself. We have taken to eating a small dinner before all of our activities. This means there are days we are eating dinner at 4:45. I usually throw together tacos, burgers, chicken breast off the grill, or sometimes even PB&J or Hamburger Helper..... Whatever works. Then when we get home we have a snack like fruit and milk or PB&J depends on how much they gobbled down before we had to leave. Like you, I can't wait until school is out for the summer, by then we will be done with soccer and will begin T-ball.... Now I fully understand why "Soccer Mom's" are so special! We rock! (Even when we feel like we're coming apart at the seams)
