Wheelock Director of Athletics Diana Cutaia says that, while we are moving towards general tolerance of LGBT athletes, we have not yet achieved acceptance.  LGBT athletes, she says, still don't feel safe coming out and have to hide who they really are,  Coaches may think they are open and accepting, but the language they use can often say something different.
