About Doreen Greenberg, Ph.D.

Dr. Greenberg is a certified consultant in sport psychology and Adjunct Professor
of Psychology at Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, where she teaches
courses in exercise and sport psychology and health psychology. She is a member
of the United States Olympic Committee's National Sport Psychology Registry,
and has worked with club, school, college, professional and Olympic athletes
in a variety of sports.

 

For five years Dr. Greenberg served as the Executive Director of the Women's
Sports Foundation -- Philadelphia Program, where she organized community programs
to enhance the lives of girls through sport. She has also served as the staff
sport psychology consultant for the Arthur Ashe Youth Tennis Center in Philadelphia.
In 1999, Dr. Greenberg was named the National Co-chair of Community Action
Programs for the Women's Sports Foundation. Dr. Greenberg has served as a
consultant to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on breaking
the cycle of youth violence through sports and on the "Girl Power"
campaign.

 

She has served on the National Girl Scouts Advisory Board for the
Girl Sports Initiative. Dr. Greenberg is a frequent expert contributor to
newspaper and magazine articles, television sports shows.

She is a primary author of Physical Activity and Sport in the Lives of Girls,
a 1997 report for the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports,
an Associate Editor of Encyclopedia of Women and Sport in America (Oryx
Press, 1998), and Editor of Sport in the Lives of Urban Girls (Women's
Sports Foundation, 1998).
