Officials are often in the best position to detect the subtle signs of concussions in athletes during a game.
The tenth right of parents under the Parent's Concussion Bill of Rights is therefore the right to expect that sports officials have been given the power to send any athlete who they reasonably suspect has suffered a concussion during play to the sideline for further evaluation. Parents' anxiety level watching their child play contact sports is likely to decrease with the knowledge that the adult closest to the action - the game official - is watching out for their child's safety.
