News from the sideline. Observations from the competitive world of girls youth soccer. WEEK 1 Jan 2010
This is a new world for us, the big world of club soccer. In fact, to start we waited several years before the circumstances aligned themselves to make the possibility real. We had concsciously waited, for reasons that in our mind were to allow our child to come into this rougher and tougher environment healthy, happy and mentally strong. And here I tip my hat to the AYSO organization that served her well and groomed her and so many others in our nations of tiny tots to becoming the budding atheletes that might just possibly represent us today or tomorrow.
So here it is, we've joined the team mid season we are two weekend tournaments in and one week away from the State Cup and all is well.
Observation:
The parents of the club players are a disciplined bunch, they drive alot, they are good at navigating into some of the most interesting places, they are adapt at arranging carpools to meet even the most demanding schedules and they can miraculously feed their charges unending appetites even when games are in the early dawn or at the dinner hour and there is no drive thru in sight. When they are on the field sidelines their voices are generally hushed only breaking into exuberant joy when a goal is scored or a good play gets rewarded. (Ah, life is different here!)

Question
May I ask what organizagtion the club team you are now involved in is a member of? Also, age of your offsprings who are participating?
Please keep in touch through this post. I am interested in how your experience pans out.
