Stunt Biking: Extreme and Daring
Bike stunts, whether their performed on dirt bikes, motorcycles, or regular bicycles can be very dangerous and is considered a very extreme sport. Stunts are done in motocross racing, BMX racing, or dirt bike racing. Stunts usually consist of going at a fast speed, riding over jumps, and then performing some type of acrobatic jump, flip, or turn while airborne.
If a child wants to get into stunt biking, then he or she MUST have lessons from an experienced coach that will start them off slow. It takes a lot of practice and hard work to be able to reach the level of doing airborne trips, and even then it is not very safe. Make sure your child wears all the proper protective gear, especially a reliable helmet.
MomsTeam goal is to provide comprehensive information on stunt biking: advice on the equipment needed and how to buy it, a primer on the rules of the sport, and videos and advice from experts, parents, and manufacturers of stunt biking gear.
But to do that we are going to need your help. If you are a parent of a child who stunt bikes or has stunt biked, we hope you will share what you have learned with other MomsTeam parents. Please consider writing a blog, contributing an article, posting on and/or hosting a Forum, or becoming a stunt biking expert. If you know of someone who used to stunt bike or coach stunt biking who has knowledge to share, ask him or her to join. Together we can make MomsTeam a true community of sports parents!
