According to a US Lacrosse 2007 participation survey:

there are approximately 241,581 players at the youth level (age 15 and under, non-high school)

According to the NCAA:

The number of men's lacrosse teams at the college level increased 24% between 1993-1994 and 2003-2004 from 170 to 211, and from 2004 to 2008 27 more programs were added, with 23 new programs sceduled to begin in 2009-2010.
- The number of women's lacrosse teams nearly doubled, from 133 to 258 between 1993-1994 and 2003-200, with an overall increase of 65.2% in the ten year period from 1998 to 2008.
