Let's Shine The Light On Good Sportsmanship

We hear so much about poor sportsmanship that it would be refreshing to hear about the good things. If you know of any acts of really good sportsmanship, please be so kind as to share them. If you know of a team or league that has a program to recognize acts of good sportsmanship, let's hear about it.

Agreed, let's hear more about the good stuff! Has anyone seen this story? After hitting a home run, this Western Oregon Softball player tore her ACL, and was carried by her opponents on her victory lap. Love to see this attitude, if it weren't for opponents, how else would team sports work? A fine example of respect demonstrated by these girls, full story at espn.

kirk was this in your blog on MTeam as well? I must have missed it, Don Collins is right that it is very important to shift our attention to highlight these acts of good sportsmanship, it is all too easy to focus on negatives..problem is, the way the news is set up, usually all we see is horrible stuff, then a fluffy puff piece on something like this near the end, when people have already changed the channel, so what we get is the impression that the only newsworthy youth sports related stories involve the despicable acts-and a lopsided story is told, I'd love to see this forum topic continued.
