Not all of these states require first aid or CPR training for coaches.

States That Don’t Require Training Of School Coaches

As of 1997, the following 28 states require some type of training in order to coach interscholastic athletics:

Pennsylvania

*As mandated by the state legislature in 1986, New Jersey does require coaching education for volunteer coaches, but it concentrates on liability issues.
